I finally got to a Walmart Supercenter this weekend and they still had the Great Value shortning with the Transfat. So I bought two of them and was wondering if I could freeze one of them?

I don't use all that much of it so I don't want it to go bad.

Freezing it isn't necessary as it has a very long shelf life. HTH

I bought 50# of Sweetex and divided it into 7 food grade containers; six of them are in the freezer.

If the can is unopened, it won't stale.

However, if you want to keep the opened can contents creamy white; you can refrigerate or freeze.

(The reason I bought the huge amount of Sweetex was because the 3# containers at the cake supply store were always yellowing and somewhat translucent - NOT FRESH.)
