My soon to be six year old nephew has requested that I make him a transformer birthday cake. I would love to do this. The only problem is that he lives 600 miles away. I was thinking that I could make a Deceptacon and Autobot symbol out of color flow and ship them to my mother who could bake the cake and place the images on top. Does anyone have any experience with shipping items like this? Or any other suggestions?
I have shipped fragile items and they break every time. All the shipping services (including US postal) are automated so putting fragile on the box doesn't matter. The only way you can send that is if you make a fairly thick piece and are able to completely wrap it in foam. The the box must be completely filled with no air so the piece can't move but is not near any edges. Remember, the box will tumble and turn on those machines.
I have no experience doing this but I think if you left the image on the wax paper or acetate, then taped this to a pieve of carbboard and covered in plastic then bubble wrapped the whole thing so it didn't move in the box it could work. You never know what will happen with the post office but I would try it.
Thanks so much for your help. I'll give it a try.
