On the animal print cake that I posted this AM...I frosted the cake with the background colors first, then smoothed with Viva papeertowel.

Then I used tip #5 and piped in the tiger and zebra stripes. With tip #10, I piped in random spots for the giraffe and cheetah patterns, then I flattened and smoothed into the cake with a Viva papertowel.

Used the leaf tip to hide the edges where the background colors met.

Hope that helps you guys--Pam

Thanks! That is a very cute cake....I'll have to try that technique sometime. So redoing the viva method after you put in the accents didn't crack the original icing?

Its a very cute cake. I did one a couple of years ago too but your method sounds easier than what I did. Maybe you should post you instructions with the picture in the gallery so if anyone sees it in the future they would have the instructions with the pic.
