I'm using wafer paper leaves on a cake this weekend (I put piping gel and clear edible glitter on them, they're drying)... but the stems are too thin to cut out. What does everyone else do? Skip stems?

Thanks,

I did a wedding cake using the edible leaves and it was awesome....I know what you mean about cutting the stems. If they were wide enough, I cut them, if not, just stuck the leaves on the side of the cake, cascading down the side, and used marzipan acorns as my fillers in between. You won't see the stems anyway. The leaves will still be a bit sticky even if you used a touch of piping gel, but that is not a problem. They won't be eating the leaves anyway.
