We looked into taking credit cards and the fee for the machine and stuff just isn't worth it for us.
Then as I was processing a sale from e-bay I was like "hey now... I can take payment for cakes this way!"
So does anyone else accept payment for their cakes from Paypay and if so what are the pro/con's that you have with doing it?
i absolutely love using paypal. i prefer taking credit cards as i get paid right away, and straight into my account. there is no monthly, just a 3% transaction fee, when i receive payments. its free to transfer money to your reg bank account, you can get a free debit card so that you can buy things anywhere straight from the paypal account. i can't say enough how much i love it! i use email invoicing, so i send an email to the customer with an invoice that i create and is super easy to do.
my mom's had her own floral shop for more than 25 years. i've asked her why she doesn't get one of the electronic (i think they're called a zahn machine) credit card thingys and she says they're just too expensive. she has a manual one where you have the carbon papers. works great for what she needs. just an idea.
I've been selling vintage dolls on eBay since 1997 and I have taken PayPal payments since 2000. At the present time 95% of my customers use Paypal. I love the convenience and immediate payments, and I earn 1.5% cash back on my purchases when I use my Paypal card as a credit card. To date I have earned back well over $600
so it helps offset some of the fees they charge for incoming payments.
