Which Flavors Would You Make?

I'm doing a big cake for this weekend, it's going to be carrot with maple cream cheese. It's for the state-wide annual meeting of maple syrup producers... so maple is an obvious theme here.

The client also wants cupcakes to send home with people... he's leaving the flavors up to me. I'm drawing a blank.. I'm thinking maybe pumpkin with maple cream cheese, or maybe spice with maple cream cheese? Or maybe a maple meringue buttercream?

Any ideas (or recipes, tried and true preferably) would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry I don't have any recipes for you but I think your idea sounds delicious. And the spice cupcakes with maple cream cheese oh that is makingmy mouth water.......
