Just wondering if it is possible to use basketweaving on a sheet cake? If so not sure how to do it on top.

Why not?

You could just do the sides & ice the top smooth

OR

basketweave the top and then the sides.
Do a rope border to cover where the top and the sides meet.

I've seen (not sure where though) a sheet cake with a baby buggy outline on the top and the buggy is filled in with a basketweave pattern. Looked really cute!

Yeah, I did it on a sheet cake, only the sides though. The top was smooth, look in my pics its the "showers of happiness" cake.

I think it was in the Wilton class one book......isn't that when we (those of us who took the classes) learned the basket weave. I would do it just like the sides but only in big long strokes. Good luck. I actually love to do the basket weave....call me crazy.

There is a baby buggy cake in my photos - it is a round cake but you can do the same thing on a sheet cake - actually I think it will be easier because there is no curves!

That baby buggy cake is on the www.wilton.com website.

I have done the basketweave on top of a sheetcake. I used a large basketweave tip.

I did a search for basketweave in the galleries and found this one as a reference for you too.
