I am taking a locally sponsored cake decorating class (not Wilton) but would like to continue on with the Wilton courses. My question is- what is learned in the Wilton course I class? What do I need to know in order to not be lost once I get into course II? So far, I've learned a few different borders and how to make roses, rosebuds and leaves. And I'm already comfortable with making and icing cakes. Thanks for your input!

In course one, you learn how to level and torte a cake. Ice it and do some borders like the shell, the rose, drop flowers, so if you know how to do all that then I'd say you're ready for course II!! ![]()
If you want to be sure you know the Wilton I basics, you can go to Michael's or your local craft store and just look through the Course I book. It is with all the Wilton stuff. If you don't know all the techniques, you could buy the book (costs around $4.99 without a coupon) and teach yourself the parts you don't know. That way you will know everything you are expected to know.

You will be bored in course I - go for course II.
I adore your little ghosts!
