I am making my first wedding cake with a fondant bow. I have the bow made (doesn't look to bad) but the cake shows 2 fondant ribbons draping down the sides. The cake will be 3 tier stacked and the ribbon will flow from the top to the bottom ( kind of resting on each tier). Do I need to attached the ribbon at the wedding or before taking.

Also, is there anything I can add to the fondant - I think I put to much gum tex and its very hard to work with.

Thanks.

My first thought was that I, personally, would attach it on site BUT then I remembered a cake I did and transported the whole thing in one piece. It worked great. thumbs_up.gif

Here's a link to a pic I took of the cake on site:

As far as too much Gum Tex, I'm not sure how to handle that except to maybe knead in more fondant icon_confused.gif

When my fondant gets too dry, sometimes I knead in a little bit of crisco until it gets to the consistency that I like. GOOD LUCK!!

Kneading in a little glycerine will also help.
