I made the crusting cream cheese recipe from here and it was good but made SOOOO much icing. I iced and filled an 8" round and still have enough left to do another cake. But don't need it right now.

Has anyone frozen cream cheese icing and had luck with it when defrosted?

They say you can't freeze cream cheese with good results, but I've never tried it...SO here's a BUMP.

I've only frozen it on an already frosted cake. It works fine like that. But I've never just frozen leftover, so I to will give you the bump....

I have done it, just let defrost slowly, and re-whip.....had no problems with the defrosted icing.
