I am doing my first craft fair in two weeks.....Doing cookie bouquets (sharing a booth with my mom and her holiday stuff) Any advice for the newbie??? I am so excited (& nervous)....doing 2 winter/Christmas themed bouquets, a fall/Thanksgiving themed bouquet, and a flower bouquet. Thought about displaying pictures of my other decorated cookies and hope for orders......what do you think??? I just hope people are interested......
TIA
Jessie

I would have a book that has pictures of everything you had done. Also maybe make a few dozen cookies for samples as well good luck let us know how it goes

Ohhhh that sounds really fun!

Your plan sounds great!

You could also make a bouquet of cookies that are "kid-friendly" so the kids will beg as they walk by. HAHA. Get even with all the times other vendors do that to YOUR kids! thumbs_up.gif A few weeks ago I "had" to buy these caramel apples at a farm for $2.50 each since the lady was bringing out fresh ones and started letting one of my sons choose the one he wanted. icon_confused.gificon_lol.gif

Yeah. Definately a BIG BASKET of cool kids cookies!!!! Maybe cute gingerbread girls and boys or cars or funky flowers....

Have fun!

Like the others said...I would have some individual cookeis available to purchase. Kids love cookies, and I think you could sell quite a few! I would love to do this, but with two little kids, it would take me several nights to get things ready! Maybe next year!

Oh I missed the fact that you are making the bouquets to sell as a bouquet....yeah definately I'd have a basket full of individual cookies to sell.... you could probably get $3-$5 per cookie depending on how large it is. And while not everybody would buy a bouquet, I bet ALOT of people would buy an individual cookie! If you have time, I bet you could sell 100 of them at least....

Then display a couple of your bouquets and a photo album and I bet you'll get orders, too.

I used to do craft shows (with painting though) and ANYTHING that you can personlize SELLS!!! Any way of being able to write a name on a cookie for them to take? Maybe for orders? This is mostly true for kids that have unusual names that are not generally found premade in stores. Most of all remember, don't undersell yourself because people that come to craft fairs EXPECT to pay a little more since it's handmade! Good luck! But most of all, have fun.
