Hi- my grocery store is out of spice mix which is what I normally would use to make my Apple Spice Cake. Has anyone ever used white cake mix and just added the spices with any luck? If so, what spices/measurements are good? I would appreciate any help you can give me!!! Thanks!!

If you cannot find the spice cake mix, use a yellow cake mix and add a teaspoon ground cinnamon, half a teaspoon nutmeg and a quarter teaspoon allspice

i found this adaptation for a Jack Apple Pecan SPice Cake recipe. Have never tried it but i dont see why it wouldnt work!

good luck! icon_biggrin.gif

I have used this recipe before, but I baked it in a bundt pan. Everyone at church loved it! Just adjust the time for your size pans.

1 box white or yellow cake mix
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 eggs
1 cup applesauce
3/4 cup water or milk
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Mix altogether and pour into prepared pans. Bake a bundt pan 50-55 min. or until toothpick comes out clean.

Hope you like it!
