What is a good filling to go with a red velvet cake?

I usually just fill mine with cream cheese frosting, but I saw a recipe in Bon Appetit that used strawberries and blueberries on theirs. I think they put some between the layers, too, if I remember correctly. Check out epicurious.com, the recipe should be there.

In addition to the cream cheese filling, I've had brides order it with chocolate fudge and plain 'ole white BC.
