My son is turning one and i'm having a hard time coming up with the cake theme. He likes trucks, sesame street and animals. Would it look ridiculous if I did a 3 tier cake and put each one of the above on their own tier? (hope that makes sense!) Just not sure how to incorporate it all....and yes I'm an indecisive Libra which is why I can't make up my mind and pick one!
How many people do you need to feed? It sounds like a 3-tiered cake would be a lot of cake for a first birthday unless you plan on having a huge party.
I would try to make it work by making like a truck with ABC's and 123's on it and have some of his favorite characters from Sesame sitting in the car.
I did a cake for my 4 year old (not the first birthday) but I had to blend a bunch of different things into it. He wanted the fire truck ... spiderman, doc octupus, and power rangers. Since that was my first ever 2 tiered cake, i used some toys also. But ya know what I love ..... when there is a first birthday cake for everyone to eat and also make a tiny cake for the birthday boy so he can smash and do what he wants with it. But tie the 2 cakes together in design. (for example a boyish castle cake and make a dragon or a knight from a ball pan or maybe 2 mini ball pans).
Something like that would be very cute.
Sorry to ramble. Mary
The castle thing was just an example....
How about a truck with characters & animals in and around it? Or a couple of trucks (like a train). And I think you could do it in tiers, trucks around the bottom then maybe the Sesame Street characters..some could have hard hats & jacks to develop a theme. I think the animals may be too many themes unless you only add one or two.
