O.k. I am new to all of this but I needed to share or better yet vent. I had to bake my mom's b-day cake and she loves the DHBR. Against my better judgement I went ahead and added pudding to the mix. Well needless to say it sank in the middle. So no prob I start over. Made a new cake and it looked perfect. Well it totally stuck to the pan and there was no way to save it. Well the third was the charm. I used the Wilton no stick stuff and phew it saved my butt. It took me all day but by golly I got that cake done and it looks pretty good. thumbs_up.gif

I know how frustrating it is to waste so much time ( not to mention ingredants!!) on a cake that fails. I so heart breaking. icon_cry.gif

At least you were finally able to pull it off.....and without going to the store for more supplies. Good for you! thumbs_up.gif

I'm sure she will love the cake and she'll never know how long it took to make it unless you tell her. Mum's the word icon_wink.gif

Make Cake Balls or even a trifle with the first two failed cakes!
Nothing wasted and a yummy treat is the result!

I agree the wilton pan grease is wonderful, I haven't had a cake stick since I started using it, it gives me such peace of mind, I don't worry anymore about sticking

Yep - agree the Wilton release works great (so does the recipe here on CC - and it's cheaper).

I have to give you credit for being so patient! I think I would have run to the bakery after the second hiccup - good for you!
