Is there such a thing as chocolate royal icing? If so, does anyone have a recipe?

I've put cocoa powder into my black icing to make it darker and I haven't had a problem. It tastes chocolatity (is this a word?). Try it with a little bit of royal and see if it gives you what you want.

heavenscent... I took your suggestion and headed over to google and found this recipe. I will give it a try. I'm going to be making reindeer cookies and wanted a chocolate coloured covering.

I just made this 5 minutes ago.
I just add cocoa powder to antonia's icing a teaspoon at a time. I needed to make black icing.

It works great and tastes nice. icon_smile.gif
