I am making a baby shower cake and need to use chocolate buttercream at the new mom's request. It will be a two tierd round cake. Any suggestions? i have never made chocolate icing before.

I love chocolate buttercream! I just add the cocao powder to regular buttercream and a little extra milk - the powder can dry the icing out otherwise. You can make it light or dark depending on how much you put in.

oh make me a ch bc lover too. Has a great flavor--not like eating straight choc. Kinda light flavor, I think. I just add some cocoa powder. There should be a recipe for it on this site or on the Wilton. I used the Wilton one.

I add melted chocolate to my regular buttercream icing, with a little extra liquid. I have used baking squares, chocolate chips and candy melts. How much you add depends on how chocolately you want it to be.
