Hello I am doing my finial course 3 cake tomorrow night. I am doing a 12 inch and a 10 inch square cake stacked ( two cakes each size filled). I have all 4 cakes baked and getting ready to ice and stack and it just dawned on me how am I going to get this to class tomorrow night. I have to travel 30 miles each way and I do not have a square cake tote. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thaks in advance.

I have done it before by just putting that no-slip liner on the floor board and putting the cake on that. Maybe someone else has a better idea, but if you drive steadily it should be ok.

You should be fine doing the non-slip mat that Coolmom suggested. If you are concerned about the cake not being in a box or container, if you have a Rubbermaid tote or a moving box you can use that.

Have fun at class!

I also had to drive 30 miles one way when I was taking classes at Michaels. I just put a clean blanket down on the floor and put a non-skid mat on top of that, then the cake. It was fine (don't forget to dowel)

It's possible that your class is different than mine, but we were supposed to bring our cakes seperate and then stack in class so we could learn the method. Afterward I'd just put it in the trunk on no slip mat like stated above.

my third class we were to bring them separate and we used the pillars to make tiered cakes. Your class must be different or just taught different. I would have much rather made a stacked cake.

Try to find a sterdy box, lid or something to put them in and if you can get the non-skid pad, they work great. Put each cake in their own box. When you get to class your instructor will show you how to assemble them and how dis-assemble. (for the trip home). I was chicken and had my daughter come with me just so they wouldn't crash. I was braver on other cakes when I got done with the classes. Oh and when you get there, go find a cart and put your cakes in there or make several trips. I laughed at myself when I had put all that stuff into the small cart and still had to carry stuff in my hands. lol

Thank you for all your suggestions. The cake and both made it to class and back unharmed. I stacked the cake at home then put it in the back (have a hatchback) on a non skid mat and it traveled fine. I posted a picture of the completed cake. Again thanks.
