Hello everyone,

I posted the question below on some of the Christmas yahoo groups I belong to and another member of your wonderful looking site directed me here. (Thanks Heather!) So I am going to repost my question here to all of you.

I was wondering if any of you have any idea how these faux cakes &
cupcakes are being made? I would LOVE to make some of these as gifts
but am not sure how they are doing it. I have looked around on the
internet for some directions but cannot find any. I am assuming they
are using spackling or molding paste of some sort? If anyone has any
ideas PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know. I can just imagine a
Christmas tree in the kitchen decorated with mini cupcakes like this!

Here are some links:

I have had a few links sent my way. One for a listing on ebay for a latex mold and some plaster. Also, another site that gives some general directions, but I am actually looking for more detailed directions on how to make these. I sure wish I could just find someone in my local area that taught classes on it. LOL

Do any of you make faux cakes & cupcakes?

Thanks,

Kathy B.

You can buy fake cupcakes through Country Kitchen SweetArt, they cost $5.50 for 6 or $19.75 for 24. Hope that helps!
