My dd 3rd birthday is coming up and she loves pumpkin spice cake, but hates cream cheese icing. Does anyone have any suggestions for something other than cream cheese? Would butter cream taste okay? Also I have no idea on what flavor to fill it with. What goes good with pumpkin? TIA

I was going to suggest caramel too! Or vanilla...
Last thanksgiving I found pumpkin spice coffee creamer and used it inplace of the liquid in a spice cake, made cakeballs with it and dipped in white vanilla candymelts...OMG!

Oooo... I have a recipe for a caramel icing that crusts... I used it on the winnie pooh cake in my photos... I'll gladly give you the recipe if you want it. It was delicious.

Thanks Everyone!!

Caramel never crossed my mind! It sounds yummy !

She wants a CARS cake so a crusting version would be great.
