I have been chosen to make the cakes for the homecoming dance for my kids' high school next month! I am really tickled, as I will get to be PAID for cakes!! I am going to be doing 60 1x1 petit fours and 10 2x2 mini square cakes. All of the 1x1 cakes will be covered in pink fondant and then 1/2 with pearl borders and 1/2 with a bow tie on top --- anyone have an idea on how the heck to do a bow tie???? This will be my first project with fondant (see other post) so I don't have any experience in modeling with it.
oh man!!! I hope you're charging a ton for these cakes!!!! You are gonna have such a time getting the fondant on cakes that small.....not to mention frosting the little buggers!! yikes........anyhow, I think the bowtie will be the least of your worries
maybe this will help??

this would look like a bowtie without the little tails on it!
