I am making a cake this week for my boss's baby shower icon_surprised.gif and was wondering what your thoughts were on MMF. I tried it once and it was O.K, but I felt like it melted faster in warm temperatures. Mine actually started sliding off the cake icon_cry.gif I have really bad luck with fondant, I get so frustrated when it keeps falling apart or sticking icon_lol.gif Can you all give me some of your thoughts on the comparison between MMF and the others? Does anyone have a fool proof recipe and method of using this? Do you think MMF is really worth another try? Is it easy to decorate on? Thanks for the helpicon_smile.gif You ladies are great! thumbs_up.gif

Hi there, well, to tell you the truth, I haven't had any problems with MMF (the only one I had problems with was when I made it using FLUFF, hated it!) Anyway, mine has never melted but also, any of my cakes have been exposed to heat. So, long story short, I would give it another try, I do really love that stuff, BUT, have your bases covered and I would have some Satinice or Fondx ready, just in case. Also, the weather now might help as well. Good luck and HTH.

I like MMF, but it doesn't always work well for me. The good thing about it is that it doesn't dry out quickly like regular fondant. You have more time to get your fondant perfectly smooth. But that can also be bad if you want the fondant to dry for accent peices.

So, I buy 20 lb buckets of Satin Ice b/c I can get it locally for a good price. I like working with Satin Ice and it tastes pretty good too. I like not having to make fondant every time I have a cake to do. I have three kids and NO time, LOL.
