Has anyone used luster dust on chocolate? I tried to paint it on my chocolates and it didn't work any tips? I also tried to dye my chocolates and it didn't work!!
Thank you
Hello
I would love to try to help.. can you be more specific... what exacatly did you do that did not work?
How did youtry to dye the chocolate?
By chocolate, do you mean white chocolate? were you working with molded chocolates or chocolate clay?
More details please
ciao
I'm no chocolate expert, but I've used lustre dust on chocolate. I find the best way is to dry brush it on. when I tried mixing it w/ vodka, it kind of "melted" the chocolate. Also, wilton makes candy colors - some people have had problems with the chocolates seizing with regular gel colors; I haven't tried to color it this way though.
Luster dust works very well when dry-brushed onto chocolate.
You can paint it on, but you have to make a very thick paint out of it with the alcohol. It's almost not worth the work, and you can only do detail work with it. Large areas usually bead up.

I also need to put a shine on chocolate roses made with the CC recipe for chocolate modeling clay. Will the dry luster dust work on this. I have made dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate roses and want to give them a sheen, just a little touch of shine. I read somewhere that they make copper, sapphire, (on the darker chocolate) etc. lusters. Would they work and how do I apply them???
