Hi everyone, I am brand new to this site and I saw the pillow cake with white chocolate tiara and wanted to make it. I have to say that I have never done anything but a box cake but I would love to try this. That being said, how and where do I get the instructions on this site for making something like this? Should I go get a book or is there a spot on this site for instructions? Also, I was looking for the templates section and I could not find it. Anyway, I was looking at Melc's mini pillow cake and that got me thinking. There are so many things I dont know..like what is mmf? How many people can a pillow cake feed? Anyway, any guidance and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Taraneh

Not sure I can help with the tiara cake....But here's a linc to a page that really helped me learn the abbreviations people here at CC use!

Anyways, mmf stands for marshmallow fondant!

Hope this helps some!

I used the instructions from Lindy Smith's Storybook cakes do do my daughter's pillow cake that is in my photos. adven68 had some quick instructions on how to do the pillow cake as well--they are actually quite easy. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-26219.html

I made my tiara out of gumpaste--chocolate and I don't get along too well--to work with anyway! icon_lol.gif If you look in the gallery, there are a bunch of tiara patterns too.

Dear missyek and daisyz, Thanks so much for the information.

Daisyz- I will definitely go to that link and check it out. It's all so new to me. Thanks again!

Missyek- I saw that exact response but I was confused on the directions. I don't think it was the directions-Im sure it was me...I think I am the type that needs exact directions-especially when it is something new. I would love to make that cake and then put the white chocolate tiara on top. I hope more people respond. Thanks again...

I have a pillow cake in my photos. I have some directions written up for it and wouldn't mind passing them on. Either email or pm me and I will send them to you icon_smile.gif.

Hi! I'd be happy to share my directions about a pillow cake also. Click on the My Photos button to see it, and if that's what you had in mind, I'd be happy to share my instructions as well. If so, just send me PM (private message - I know, it takes a while to learn the Cake Central lingo!) and I'll send them on.

Thanks!

Melissa

I know what you mean - I have a 4 1/2 year old, another that's almost 2, and a full time job! And I just started a part time job, too, so time to do cakes is very limited! Oh well. At least my part time job is doing a little cake decorating so it's not so bad. People always ask me how I have time to do cakes, and the only "secret" I know is to do them after they've gone to bed! This has resulted in some "all nighters" but I'm having so much fun doing it that it doesn't bother me.

Anyway, you'll love Cake Central - it's the best!

Yep, I have a 4 year old and a daughter who, although she will be 3 in January, acts like she is 5, with the temper tantrums of a 2 year old icon_smile.gif

Welcome icon_smile.gif

If you wouldn't mind sending a PM to let me know to check your photos - that would be the best! Cuz I don't always have time to check the forum, but still definitely post it on the forum so everyone else can see too!
