I had received those pictures many times in my e-mail. I'm kind of glad that they are not marzipan. I feel a little less envious of their ability. icon_rolleyes.gif

My mom sent me those a while back and I was just in AWWW, that is art in and of itself!! I think you incorporate them into a cool shower cake. I just made one with one but it was no where near that cool.

I'm seriously freaked out and i cant even really look at them without my hairs standing up and i'm not really talking about in a good way. Maybe its just me.

I emailed Camille about 2 years ago and asked if she ever considered selling her molds, figuring she could get more for them than for the actual miniature dolls. She wrote back and said she hadn't thought of it because she was afraid someone would then make the dolls in a lesser quality and ruin her name. Now I had in mind to mold them of gumpaste, but that is another story. She sells the babies on eBAY and the last one I saw went for $1,800 so guess I won't be buying any of these too soon.

I thought the same thing! It almost made me want to cry. icon_lol.gif I don't know why, maybe because they look so real and you think... well I think you know what I'm thinking?! Does that sound really dumb? icon_confused.gificon_smile.gif

I don't think y'all sound dumb at all but I actually thought that if I had one I would want to hold it all the time. Kind of like protect it cause it's so tiny. I wouldn't mind having one but there's nothing you can really do with it and I don't have collections of stuff so it wouldn't be something to add to a collection.

I think the people that are buying these are definitely collectors and have somewhere to display them. Now if they own a room full of these babies, that would be creepy to walk into!

They sort of remind me of the Anne Geddes babies...like you could find one in a flower or in a pea-pod...so cute but I think I would like them better if they didn't look quite so real....

<whole body shudder>

Too realistic! It reminds me of what a NICU must look like.

My mom always said she could hold my brother in the palm of her hand when she first brought him home.

Very artisitic....but not for me.

Too realistic - as in the same category as the cat litter pan cake.....

I would love to have a collection of these babies!! They are about the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Most are one-of-a-kind, but she did start offering limited editions where she has 500 made. I believe they sold in the $300 range. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to buy one icon_sad.gif

Yes! Exactly! That's probably why they made me feel like crying!! icon_cry.gificon_lol.gif

she does make lifesized ones that are less "creepy". I thibk they are so prescious but i can see why others may find them too real and a bit disturbing cuz it pulls at your soul a little. Like the way a preemy looks in a nic u. Now i think im disturbed.

Well, I got the molds in today's mail, all I had in the cupboard was some chocolate fondant so tried a bit in each one and the faces are pretty cute. Now, can I make the arms and hands and can I make the completed babies look like the ones on the eBAY page? I don't know, I'll get back to you on that. I haven't watched the DVD that came with the molds, will do that tonight.

OH MY GOSH!! This is the 4th thread I have read on these little babies over the past few months. Same rumor about being fondant or marzipan....

isn't that funny?

I got that email over a year ago, apparantly it's been around for awhile. If a person were good enough at modeling in clay I think they could be done in marzipan as well. Thing is mine would be meant as a keepsake for the parent, I couldn't imagine anyone eating one of these little creations.

Really really freaky but kinda cool too lol.

I'd love to have one that looks identical to this one picture we have of our daughter when she was about a year old just old enough to sit up on her own. Hubby wants to get "that" face tattooed on his shoulder because it's his favorite. But I checked on the contact page and she does NOT do requests or portraits icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Okay, just watched the DVD. Nearly fell asleep with the boring background music, but the sound of her bird squawking in the next room kept me awake. I did learn some things by watching but the difference in the material she used and what I want to use may be a problem. She used clay that has more working time so you can finesse the body, hands etc. without the clay drying out. I don't think I will have that much time with gumpaste or even 50/50 paste but I will give it a try. Now that wedding cake season is over and once the holidays are done I will have more time to play. Think I'll try making one after January.
