Hello CC-ers~
Have a few questions about alcohol and luster dust, a big TIA!!
Can you taste the alcohol at all?
Is there a specific type to use?
Why is alcohol better than H2O?
I'm still new at all this, so I figured it would be best to ask the experts icon_smile.gif

No, you do not taste the alcohol... Alcohol evaporates and then it leaves nothing but the luster dust. NEVER use water ...
if you want, you can use any clear extract if you do not want to use Vodka or Gin. icon_smile.gif

A lot of people use vodka or everclear. I've also seen that people use lemon extract. Can't taste the vodka or whatever - don't know about the extract. Alcohol is better than H2O because it evaporates quicker. icon_smile.gif

You will not taste the alcohol it evaporates where water will be sticky and takes longer to dry. Use clear alcohol- everclear, vodka, rum

Luster dust is not soluble in water...only alcohol. I've used vodka, but the Everclear (100% Grain Alcohol...you can get it at any liquor store) dries even quicker and is purer. I personally like lemon extract...probably because I like smelling it while I paint with it!!
