I baked a birthday cake this weekend using a Duncan Hines Cake Mix and used the cake extender found in the CC recipes using extra flour, sugar, egg and sour cream. The cake seemed dryer than usual to me. Is this normal when using the cake extender, or are there opinions as to which makes the moistest cake? I have my daughter's wedding shower cake to make this weekend and I'd like to put forth by best effort. Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks

I've used this extender only with non-fat plain yogurt and BC cake mix. It's always been nice and moist each time I've used it. This last time I added 2 Tbsp of Coffeemate Powdered Creamer (vanilla caramel) and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!

I just made cupcakes with the cake extender in chocolate cake mix. I used non-fat vanilla yogurt and mine was very moist. More moist than usual. Did you maybe forget an ingredient?

I tried this with DH cake mix and it was moister than without the extender. Not sure why yours was dry.
