Well, the bride just called me tonight and apologized for not returning my calls earlier (this is the night before her wedding)... She was fine with the fact that I couldn't do her wedding cake, so obviously it really didn't mean that much to her. Ha ha... she also said that she got all my messages but she either got them too late.. or a couple days later 
Hmm... I wonder what was keeping her from calling back at a more oportune time... rather than waiting for my next message. 
Aww well, we live and we learn. I will for sure be doing contracts and other such things starting now. Thank you all for your tips... I am just glad that the bride wasn't upset at me... Thank the Lord!
Melysa, that is crazy what your bride did to you! I am glad that you had the backbone to stand up to her... I probably would have melted into a puddle. Good on you! 
I think this was a good thing for you! Learn this now and you make changes and then the same thing doesn't happen in the future!
It really DOES sound like cake is not a big thing to her! Because she is going to have NO cake at the wedding! Unless she is going to buy some grocery store sheet cakes! Some people!
