Has anyone ever used the Wilton Cupcake pans (appear more shallow and wider) vs. the standard cupcake pans you buy at Walmart, or even the other ones that Wilton manufacturers? About a $10 price difference between the 2. My concern is that being the more expensivie wilton pans are shallower (sp) and not as deep, that the cupcakes will spread more. Can anyone give me a reaction to this? I want all of the cupcakes to be uniform, but afraid with these pans it won't be the case.
Hope this makes sense.

Hi there. I'm new here I'm normally stuck on wilton forums but they don't post immediatly and I can't offer assistance there lol.
My experience with this is: I purchased the Wilton MINI cupcake/muffin pan and then purchased one from Walmart. The Wilton one has 12 cavities and is about the side of a ladies shoe box, almost literally, the one from Walmart is about the same size as a regular cupcake pan with 24 cavities.
I decided against using the Wilton Mini-Mini-Mini!!! lol pan and decided to use the one from walmart. I also bought 2 off eBay made by "Wear Ever" and they are excellent!!! My client I purchased this pan for, placed an order for 24 mini cupcakes, and a dora cake. I showed her the Wilton one and she laughed. I showed her the one from Walmart and she smiled. I said "Look hun you paid for this in advance you placed this order, you choose what pan I use" well it was all around the same from everyone, her, her mother, her husband, my husband, my mother lol everyone! said the Wilton Mini Muffin pan isn't big enough for ANYTHING! lol.
I know this long story doesn't answer your exact question but I figured it might help in aiding your choices. I've decided to keep the Wilton pan mainly because the store I bought it from won't take it back lol but I plan to use it for such things as bite size brownies, ONE bite cupcakes... after school snacks for my almost 8 year old that loves mommy's baking lol.
Hope this helps hun. I can post pictures of the two pans side by side and can even bake a batch of cupcakes in each to show the difference if you'd like
As if you couldn't tell I LOVE baking lol.

(editted add in) I forgot to mention. To keep them uniform and all the same size I bought the Wilton Cookie Dough thingie. It looks like a smaller version of an ice cream scooper. I know others make this because my mother had one but hers is broken so while shopping yesterday I purchased this and sadly my husband didn't listen and didn't use it to make the cupcakes last night and they weren't all the same size but I've used mom's before and know for a fact this is a great tool for this because you control EXACTLY how much batter goes in each cavity. I'd suggest everyone buy one of these
Maybe check walmart since it's christmas time soon and I know that's where Mom got hers and I know it was close to christmas season because that's why she bought it lol.
my mother has pans similar although they are not wilton. they are nice because they give a larger surface to decorate. No never had any problems with uniform size.
