Can I ask,
I have done a couple of models now, the latest uploaded to my gallery tonight, The question is, I use a clay gun for my models hair, but it comes out all wiggley...
I would have liked to have made my little girl have plaited hair but it would not come out of the clay gun straight and I had to make the fondant so soft, that the strands stuck together so i couldn't seperate the strands...
Anyone know how I can get around this problem....
Anne
I wish I could help! I have trouble using the grass/hair tip too! I have to use so much shortening in order to push it through, that the strands stick together. So I've begun the tedious method of using the single hole disc and cutting/attaching each strand separately. When I do the one-strand method, i can pull/stretch it a bit and it gets straighter. I would let the strands of hair sit a few minutes to dry a little, then you should be able to plait it. Just don't let it dry too long!
BTW Anne, Your girl w/ the cast came out great!! ![]()
I think it depends on which clay gun you use as far as it coming out straight. For things like hair I use the green makins one from michaels that has a twist handle. It comes out straight and I don't thin the fondant at all. Also, I try not to stop and start too much b/c that can make it uneven.
