"dummy" Cake

I have never done a dummy cake and I would like to be able to do one for display purposes and weddings ECT.... How do i do it, what all is involved and what do I need to do or use for DISPLAY cakes??? I no nothing when it comes to this area. Thanks in advance!!!

You ice a dummy cake the same as you would a regular cake but use royal icing.Depending on the decorations you use you can do it with fondant,gumpaste or royal icing.If you are making a tiered cake you do it as you would as if it were real...separater plates,pillars.If you are stacking you just stack ontop of each other.They can become quite heavy so make sure you have a sturdy baseboard.
