Help! I've only sold one cake before and it was mainly just for supplies and a little extra..SO I have NO idea what to charge for a castle cake! icon_eek.gif

Attached is a picture of mconrey's beautiful cake thumbs_up.gif , which I am going to base mine on... Mine will be a 10" chocolate cake base with a 7" (hers is a 6") white cake round on top--so it will feed about 46 people. All BC except the door, towers, and grass. What would you charge?

Oh, I am in the Atlanta, GA area.

Thanks so much in advance!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Someone here at CC told me once that you should multiply your "cost" (including everything) by 4. If I was the customer, I would easily pay more than $100 for it, JMHO. HTH and Good Luck!

There is a similar cake listed on www.cindascreativecakes.com and it is 95.00.

It is listed under licensed characters on page 5.

Hope this helps.

I think you'd better talk to the customer before you make it. It is worth a big pricetag, but they may not be willing to pay it.

Ok I see the square cake and round cake, and I assume the peaks are upside down cones, but what are the cones attached to the long things and what's wrapped around the bottom of the cone fondant? Thanks

I would charge a lot looks like a lot of work and if I was buying I would expect to pay tons but only because I can only imagine the amount of work most people think cakes are a piece of cake to make

I made a castle cake today similar to that one and let me tell you, it was quite alot of work. Mine was for a friend, and I rarely sell cakes but I wouldn't do another one for under $90.

Thanks so much for the pricing help! I e-mailed the customer and told her somewhere between $75-$100--b/c she is a friend of my mom's. I also told her that I would normally charge over $100 for it (in case she tells some of her friends about it!).

debster, the long tower part is a paper towel roll wrapped in fondant. To get the rim-like structure, insert a regular icecream cone inside the paper towel roll, and then place an inverted sugar cone covered in fondant on top. HTH!

Thanks again everyone! icon_smile.gif
