I have several cakes on display at a wedding chapel. I have a bridal fair coming up and decided to redo these for my display. I went to pick them up and as I am leaving I am putting them on the sidewalk in front of the chapel, which is in a shopping center.
Well I can't begin to tell you the crowd this drew. First off cars were slowing down looking at them, then people were coming out of the shops to see what they were.
So I decided to stack them all on top of each other and carry them to my car... It was hilarious the looks and people asking to help and asking if those were real. My two year old son was carrying one for me..that was a good one!!
I know this isn't important cake info but it was a good laugh.. made me think of some funny things I could do with a dummy cake and a hidden camera!!!
Thankfully I wasn't drinking anything when I read your post!!! I can only imagine!! (especially if your toddler had dropped it ![]()
)..
It's funny how people see even dummies and have them represented as if they're true cakes.. Now, if we could only get the people that insist upon TOUCHING them to treat them as if they're real cakes then we'd all be set
..
Too funny though!! ![]()

When I was just starting to do cakes, I had no idea there were such things as "dummy" cakes. So I had to do a double take at a cake show when a lady just picked up her cake and tossed it into a box. And I mean TOSSED (must not have done as well as she had hoped!).
That is so funny! You need to send in an idea to that show that puts up hidden cameras (I can't think of the name of it, I don't even remember what network it's on - but it's funny!) I can just see the reactions of those people! lolol Especially the part about your toddler picking up the cake! People must've thought he was some sort of Bam-Bam! lol
