Hi - does anyone of a link or directions on the 'proper' way to cut cakes into slices? For example, cutting an oblong cake, cutting a round 14" cake, etc...

Here is the wilton.com website guide.

I know the directions are posted on here somewhere, but for some reason, I can never find them when I want them and I always go back to wilton...

Here are a few others:

This one is pretty good and gives you other ideas too:

Hope this helps you and I hope the links work, I have a hard time posting links, nothing to do with the website, it is all me!

Also check in the templates section of the gallery, also do a search on how to cut a round cake and there is an awesome example from one of the members on here.

Here's a link to the photos of how Debi cuts a round cake. It looks much easier then the wilton way. http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&meta=allby&uname=indydebi&pageID=3 Scroll down to the bottom of the page and she has step by step photos.
