I have some margerine kicking around and was wondering if it made a difference in this recipe, if I used margerine. Don't get me wrong, I love butter and use it for my baking, but haven't tried this recipe and icing cookies, so this is a practice at both!!

Sometimes I use half margarine and half butter. I can't taste a difference and they don't spread as long as you refrigerate the dough.

Sure, but be sure you purchase a margerine that is 100% corn oil (or whatever) and NO water added. The water is a Buttercream killer.

I have to admit that sometimes I will use margarine instead of butter if that is what I have in the fridge at the time and my cookies turn out great!
