I started baking the 13 x 9 x 2 at 350 and then came on here and asked and it was recommended to bake at 325 for 45 minutes so I ran to the kitchen and lowered it to 325. The question is that the cake has been baking for 20 minutes at 350 will my lowering the temperature affect the cake - raw inside - I don't want anyone to get sick

sorry for the newbie silly question

nope... just make sure you check it before you take it out... if you have to bake it longer, bake it longer.
cheers!

You can stick a tooth pick into the center, if it comes out clean, it's done, if not, give it another 5 minutes, and test again. Some people gently push the center and if the cake springs back it's done. I haven't tried this, I don't like to touch the cake if I don't have to, but it does prevent putting another hole in the cake. Happy baking. icon_biggrin.gif
