I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what they would charge for this cake? I have been decorating cakes for quite a while now, but have just recently started getting paying customers. I have no idea what to charge them and I always think I am charging to much. I sold this cake for $20.00 and the customer acted like that was to much. It was a 1/2 sheet cake torted and filled with buttercream. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

$20.00 icon_eek.gif Are you insane!!!!! First of all, you should charge what YOU think your time and talents are worth! I charge $20.00 for a small 6" round with CBC and fondant accents, so you should have definately charged more. Especially if you piped all of that on by hand!! I'm sure that took a long time. I would have charged about $35-$40 for that, at least!!

I agree.. I know it's hard starting out trying to feel confident in the setting prices.. but you don't want to take a loss. I would also say around $35-40 for this cake. If the customer seems shocked that $20 is too high.. you don't want them as customers!!
