Does Cake Decorating Make You Like Holidays More?

It does me! I was never a huge Halloween fan but am finding myself liking it a LOT now that I can do cakes! I did a Halloween one today for a party (posted in my pics), and though it was a 'copy' of one on CC (thanks maplecakes!), it was so much fun to make.
Ok, that's not all true. It was fun AFTER I scraped all the icing off, trimmed the bottom layer to make it the same size as the top, re-leveled the top, then re-crumb coated, made fresh BC, colored it orange, and then re-iced the dang thing, THEN finally got to decorate it!
It was great to see the reaction of the people I took it to, they loved it!
Well I love all the holidays so the baking part is just an added bonus lol I find it's the different seasons that really get me going like the fall and the winter I seem to want to bake up a storm lol especially if it's raining or snowing. I guess its cause the house smells so much better considering all the windows and doors are closed. It just gives that snuggly feeling lol
i love, love, love holidays. and....being that i am in alaska (and by the first part of december we only have 5-6 hours of daylight) it will make my whole world much cosier!
Yes! Any excuse to make and decorate a cake!
