The last couple of time I have made the NFSC they have spread in the oven. I'm not talking just a little either.
I'm not sure what I could be doing wrong. The first few times I have made them they turned out great but last nights batch are way to big.
I put them in the freezer while I cut everything out and leave them in there while I cut out the RBC also. By the time they finish cooking and I go to put on the RBC there is about a inch and a half of the cookie showing all around. Is there something I'm doing wrong or not doing that I should be? Any help would be great. Thanks!! ![]()
Could you be using too much baking powder? That would definitely cause spreading, as would putting the cookies on a hot sheet before they go into the oven. (It doesn't sound like you're doing that, though.)
Did they take the normal amount of time to bake? If they took longer than usual, then the problem could be oven temperature. (If it's too cool, they have longer to spread before setting.)
Same thing is happening to me, PokeyAnne. So I have officially decided to stop using the NFSC recipe and I'm going to look for something else. I have no idea why I have the spreading. I've done nothing different from the other times I've made the recipe and it's just not working right.
Very bizarre but it made me mad so I'm moving on. LOL. ![]()
