I've made it a million times now and for some stupid reason...ITS NOT TURNING OUT TODAY!!! It never gets thick, stays runny and has th consistancy of melted marshmallow creme...ugh!! icon_cry.gif

I'm using Antionia's recipe, as I always have with clean dry instruments...

5 tbsp merrainge powder
6 oz warm water
1 tsp cream of tartar
2 lbs 4 oz powder sugar

I just think the Kitchen Gods are not smiling down on me today. I give up...I'll try again tomorrow. (as I need to go t the store to buy more supplies ans 3 batches are just slop...whaaaaaa!!!!)

Sorry...just needed to let off some steam so my 3 yr old will stop looking at me funny for yelling at my mixer... icon_rolleyes.gif

It does sound like some oil or grease, got in it. Wash the utencils with hot, soapy water and rinse with some cold water and vinegar, that should do it. Keep smiling.

whenever I have this problem, I just add more dry until I get the right consistency.....humidity and the elements can change. If too thick, a little water works for me.....
may not be science, but trial and error works when you have a 3 year old like myself....
good luck
