Can someone advise me on making evergreen trees from ice cream cones. Is it better to use Royal or B/C? What tip is best a star tip or leaf tip? I'm making a John Deere cake with trees and wasn't sure what the easiest method was. Thanks all!! icon_wink.gif

you can use a star tip 14 or 16, a leaf tip or even tip 74, or the grass tip 233, that makes a really furry tree. start at the bottom and work up, have some bamboo skewers in some stryrofaom so you can rest them on them to dry.

Either stiff BC or RI will work. I like to use RI for them so I can do them ahead of time. Also, it's nice to be able to move them around on the cake until they "look right." That's just easier with royal.

There is a tutorial in the articles section of the home page. I always use Royal as buttercream can droop sometimes.
