when you make the body and limbs and such do you let them dry then put them together? How long do you have to put them together? What is the best "material" to make 3D objects out of?

When I make figurines I do the body and legs, and let that dry. I then do the head and leave on a toothpic to dry, I the dress the figure if nessesary. the arms are then modelled using soft paste on the dry body. And the head added last.
The best to use is gumpaste.
