Dowling Questin??

Do I need to dowel a stacked cake of 8", 6" and 4"??? I will be using a box mix. This is my first stacked cake so any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated icon_biggrin.gif

I don't think the top 2 layers will be all that heavy, but, you might want to use dowels just to be safe.
It would be awful if they tilted.

always use dowels.

yes! you will want dowels under each cake board for support, it will get heavy and you don't want each layer sinking in to the one below. don't forget the last dowel thru all layers straight down the middle... will keep them centered!
