I am pretty new to the fondant world and I am trying to make ruffles with fondant. It isn't working to well. I added tylose to the fondant to make it firmer then took a celpen and flattened out the edges. I think I either rolled it out too thick - plus I think I added too much tylose because it was starting to get real dry and cracky looking. Any help would be appreciated.

I would knead some Crisco shortening into it and see it it becomes more pliable. I have found a good paste for ruffles is 50/50 paste, or half fondant, half gumpaste kneaded together.

What do you actually cut your fondant out with to make ruffles?
