I'm making a 3D diamond ring and would like to use this mold, but with sugar so it looks more like a diamond rather than having one made of white chocolate. My question is, will the hot sugar melt this mold? I keep seeing this for chocolate use, but can't seem to find if the sugar will work. TIA!

That kind of mold will melt with the heat of poured sugar. You would need a mold made of material specifically for poured sugar pops. Usually they are a white plastic. Not sure what kind of plastic though.

I have a mold similar to that and my HOUSE hot water warped it. I know it's hotter than most, I prefer it that way, but the water temp warped it. I think there are molds that are specifically for hot sugar out there. This one I fear would do a major melt down on you...
sorry....

The mold that you have is a chocolate mold and will melt if you use hot sugar. Only hard candy molds are used for hot sugar.

Try using just dampened white granulated sugar! It's sparkly too.

I used this technique once for making a lampshade for a Chair Cake I did once....and it worked brilliantly! It can be found in Colette Peter's book "Colette's Cakes".

This is what you do...mix 1 tablespoon of cold water and 1 cup of sugar, pack it tightly into your mold. (You can even tint it by adding a drop of food colouring to the water before you add the sugar and mix!) Even the top off with a knife and invert onto a piece of waxed paper. Gently lift off your mold, tapping very lightly if you have to. Let it dry for two days.

not sure if this will help or workl..but, I was in Target recently and in their dollar section they had some diamond shaped ice molds. They were silicone like. They might work... if not, you've only spent a dollar... I'm not sure what temp. the water is in a dishwasher but, I know it's hot.. if it can make it in there.. maybe it'll work...just a suggestion...
