Doing a wedding cake....I need 260 servings. Bride wants 4 tiers. 14-12-8-6 inch rounds with 2 12x18 sheet cakes in the back. The reception hall verified they cut full sheets into 60 servings. Am I on target? Thanks!

the charts on CC say you would get 170 without the sheet cakes..........are you figuring for the top tier NOT being eaten too??? here is a link for earlene's cakes too......evidentally her servings are a little more generous!

the 14, 12, and 8 should give you 125 servings. If the 6" will be for anniversary, it doesn't count obviously. If they cut a full sheet into 60 servings, and a 12 x 18 is only a half sheet, then you should have 180 servings total...am I not correct on this one? If they cut each 12 x 18 into 60 servings you would have 245 small servings.

I have to say I'm going by Earlene's serving sizes, not Wilton's. I think it would depend on who cut the cake.

I make those cakes, without the 6in, as coming out to 263 servings. 14in = 75 servings, 12in = 56 servings, 8in = 24 servings, each 12x18 sheet = 54 servings. Considering that not everyone will want cake, I'd say that you'll be fine.

I am not counting the top tier and I am counting the 12x18 as 60 servings. This always stresses me out so much!! Now that I recalc. I get 245. Any ideas? Thanks for the input!

How about a 14, 12 & 9, that would give you 160 servings. I'd still argue that your sheet cakes will only give you 54 servings (you will have to cut a single layer sheet cake in a 2x2x2in slice to have the equivalent of a 1x2x4in normal wedding serving!), so that gives you another 108 sevings = 278 servings total.
