I'm making a cheeseburger cake using (3) 8" layers. Do I need to use any cake boards or supports on the layers? I've done 2 layer 8" cakes before, without any support, but now that I'll have 3 layers, I'm not sure how it will hold up structurally (especially if I use MMF on the top tier). Any suggestions? Thanks!
While board may not be "required", if you tort the layers (ending up with 6 layers) putting a board between each stack of 3 definitely makes the cake easier to cut. Either way - adding a support board/plate near the bottom is always a good idea on more than 2 (2" or 3") layers.
nah, it's going to be pretty basic. No torting. just 2 inch layers.
