I am making a four tiered wedding cake for my neice at the end of the month. Wish me luck as I have never done a stacked cake before...
Thinking of one layer as butter pecan... is there an extender recipe for that and also...what filling would go well with that flavor of cake?
I don't know about an extender recipe. I think some type of coconut filling would be really good with butter pecan! (But, that's just me, lots of people don't like coconut).
You will be fine! I did my first wedding cake in July, stacked and it was fine, just be sure to support/dowel it good. Be sure to post the picture!
I like using wiltons hidden pillar system. It is very strong and the pillars fit inside any size separater plate. As long as the execution is done well you will have no problems!!
Thanks kiddiecakes..I will check it out...
and thanks for the ideas ccer's... any more are welcome...still mulling over my options lol.
I did a butter pecan cake not too long ago. I used the extender recipe, but used butter rum flavoring and added chopped pecans. It was delicious!
I personally would skip the coconut. It sounds like too many flavors and might actually be too much. The caramel sounds yummy or you could flavor the BC with butter rum flavor. That's what I did.
Have fun!
