My back is against the wall on this one. What can I do to get my buttercream red? I researched this before I got started, so I thought I was going to be ok. Using the tips I found here...I started with white, used pink to get it pink...that went fine. Then I used Americolor Super Red to get it red...that didn't work. It looks like it is getting darker, but still not red. Well then I used some Wilton's no taste red and still not really red. HELP!!!! What can I do to salvage this?!?!?!? The cake isn't due until Saturday, but this is a show stopper. Should I just try to buy some red icing?

Anybody....please help.

Thanks.

Cover the icing up and let it sit for a while. Buttercream colors will deepen over time. Look at it in the morning and see if it is red. If not add some more red to it.

Let it sit. I've also heard of adding cocoa powder or Kool Aid, butyou'll have to look those threads up, because I really don't know how those work! Good luck and don't forget to post a pic. I'm sure it'll turn out great!

I agree with TexasSugar...let it sit overnight...
My Wilton teacher said that you have to put in gobs of Wilton red...maybe as much as 1/2 jar...

Do you have any Americolor Holiday red? I used that with the super red on Saturday and got a pretty good red color which deepened overnight in the fridge. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!
