What size is 1/4 sheet pan and how many does it feed? I was looking at the wilton web site and the smallest sheet pan is 9X13 which serves 45 people.

Is this 1/4 sheet? Are there any smaller sizes available maybe at Micheals?

Pardon my ignorance...but I'm gonna attempt my first sheet cake!

Thanks in advance.

Yep, I believe 1/4 sheet is 9x13, and 45 servings sounds right (my cakes are pretty tall though). And 9x13 is the smallest I've seen... but what you can do is buy a 11x15 and cut it in half and then you stack one on top of the other and viola, you got your two layers and a smaller size cake. HTH.

The Wilton site gives servings based on (two layer) sheet cakes.

A lot of folks think "one" layer when they hear sheet cake. icon_smile.gif

So you could bake just one 13x9x2 layer, and cut 2x2" squares for a yield of 24 servings.

You know, my DH and I were just talking about this very thing tonight. He asked me what the actual sizes were for a 1/4, a 1/2, and a full sheet. I thought for a few minutes and realized that I really don't know either. The one I thought was a full sheet, didn't measure up right. So, please CC family, what are the actual measurements of the different sized sheets? After all these years, you'd think I'd know, but...........

TIA

I just got this handy dandy tool in the mail for this exact reason...some people want to see on their cake how many servings it is....

Here is a good example of something similar being used...although Jennifer told me that the thing they use is a antique (with some kind of wire lines to mark the cake and they aren't made anymore). But the one I posted on my last reply would work just as good I believe.

There is a 7 x 11 cake pan which I use for baking cakes for a single person or for very small gatherings. This pan takes 1 cake mix. I did not think I would use it very much but I use this size a lot, so much so, I had to order 3 more of the same size.
